11 Random Facts about Natalie:
-
I’m a vegetarian who eats the occasional fish, so a pescetarian I suppose.
-
Charles Dickens is my favorite author with Hemingway/Fitzgerald/Twain right behind him; but really no one gets me, or me like him, like the great Shakespeare. NERD I know.
-
I think that West Wing is the best, most intelligent, well written TV show ever created, although Law & Order is my personal favorite.
-
I grew up with 6 cats, hamsters a guinea pig and a dog until I was 13, then we cut down to one dog and one cat and that’s how it’s been ever since.
-
I love to be hot and I hate to be cold. Awesome move from Florida to Chicago, Natalie.
-
I played basketball very seriously until I went to college.
-
I am addicted to buying and owning and collecting and loving accessories – purses, the bigger the better, especially.
-
I don’t believe in soul mates or that there is one person for everyone, but I do believe that when you are ready the right person for you will come along and that it’s only when you are ready that you will be wise enough to grab him/her.
-
There’s no place in the world that I would rather be than the Florida Keys.
-
I’m a dreamer.
-
I don’t sleep very much. I like sleep, a lot, but I have always had issues sleeping more than 5-6 straight hours a night without waking up. Now I think I’m one of the lucky ones who doesn’t need a ton of sleep, which is very helpful for working a lot and maintaining a personal/fitness life!
-
And one extra: I lived on Sara and Rocky’s (and Ben’s!) couch during the Summer of 2010. It might have been the greatest summer ever
11 Random Facts about Sara:
1. I am named after a cat.
2. I have double jointed hips and they pop in and out of the sockets. It’s pretty gross.
3. I was a cheerleader in high school, although I’m sure that’s not shocking to anyone.
4. It’s possible that I love my dog more than my own life.

5. I met my husband when I was 16…in a bar. That’s where all classy girls meet their husbands.
6. I LOVE CHEESE. AND BREAD.
7. And Tequila.
8. My favorite place in the world is Paia, Maui.

9. I’m going diving with sharks in June and I am scared sh*tless.
10. I want to run a marathon before I’m 30.
11. My husband is truly my best friend. I thank my lucky stars every day for him.
11 questions from Charlotte
-
How many siblings do you have and where do you fall in birth order?
Natalie: Zero – only child right here
Sara: 22 year old sister and a 10 year old brother. I’m the oldest.
-
What is your most embarrassing childhood memory?
Natalie: My first real kiss – ugh. It was AWFUL. Picture a middle school hallway, the last day of school, your first very awkward relationship, EVERYONE STARING AT YOU. It gives me the shudders just to think about it.
Sara: I stuffed my bra in middle school for a Bar Mitzvah and the tissues popped out on the dance floor. My cover up was that it was a dryer sheet. OY VEY!
-
What is your favorite junk food snack?
Natalie: This is a trick question, because really anything involving chocolate, but in the interest of providing an actual answer I would say that it’s a toss up between M&Ms and Ruffles. Ruffles are my go to salt…well, those and french fries. Basically I love salt and chocolate
Sara: I’m with Natalie. Cheese fries and chocolate mousse. So refined.
-
If you were a super hero, what would your name be?
Natalie: This is a fantastic question – my power would be mind-reading and mind-control and my name would be Night Sable (courtesy of J)
Sara: Captain Planet
-
What is one thing you can not live without?
Natalie: The obvious answer to this is Abby, J, my family and the amazing people I’ve been lucky to call my friends. The more fun answer to this is Benefit “They’re Real” mascara. No joke people – it’s the best mascara on the planet.
Sara: Family and friends. Mascara is a close second for me, too. I’m on L’oreal Voluminous right now.
-
What was your undergrad major and does it relate to what you’re doing now?
Natalie: In undergrad I majored in Political Science, with a double minor in English and Philosophy. I am now a practicing attorney and have always been a political junky (consider yourself lucky this is a fitness blog!). Although it doesn’t seem that my degrees are related to my profession I actually think I use them regularly in my writing, critical thinking and analysis of and about the law. Also – isn’t everything political really? I wouldn’t change my major or my undergrad (Go G-Dub!) for anything in the world. I wouldn’t be where I am now without those experiences – and the amazing people I met along the way.
Sara: Event Planning – exactly what I’m doing now.
-
If you were a sitcom character, which one would you be?
Natalie: Miranda – obviously. I’m a lover of SATC and so many times I would find Miranda so annoying, but in that “I totally relate to you and your neurosis” kind of way. I’d like to think I have a bit of Charlotte’s romantic, genuine nature in me too.
Sara: Penny from Big Bang Theory – LOVE THAT GIRL!
-
If you could get any celebrity to play you in the movie of your life, who would you choose?
Natalie: This is a tough one. I’m going to say Scarlett Johansson, because I think she’s a total badass for so many reasons and I love her sass and acting abilities. I also know that she would like me if she met me
I’m also really into Kerry Washington (G-Dub alum!).
Sara: Kate Hudson.
-
Would you rather win an Emmy, an Oscar, a Tony or a Grammy?
Natalie: Oscar. Those dresses, the old Hollywood glamour, the red carpet to end all red carpets and all of the beautiful people. I also don’t think I have a chance at anything else – people like Al Gore win Oscars – people like Jennifer Hudson win a Tony or a Grammy. I am much more Al Gore than Jennifer Hudson (that’s a weird line to write about yourself).
Sara: Grammy. There are two talents that I did not get in this life that I am so envious of…singing and dancing. So, if I could pick it would be a grammy because I’d sing better than Christina Aguilera. BOOM!
-
If you could go on a one month vacation starting tomorrow, where would you go?
Natalie: This is another tough one, but I think Africa. I know that’s a continent and not a “place”, but I feel a social, political and personal desire and responsibility to experience multiple countries in Africa and I think it’s the kind of place that Americans should be exposed to more often than they are.
Sara: Bora Bora. Who doesn’t want to see the ocean from the bottom of their villa?!
-
Are you a morning, afternoon and/ or evening exerciser?
Natalie: Morning.
Sara: All of the above. On a good day I’ll run in the morning, yoga around 6:30 PM and then lift weights around 8:30 PM when my husband gets home. Sometimes I’ll throw in a little lunch-time abs.
